Happy Anniversary...

   Some people wonder why I want to celebrate a day of serious consequences. I can tell you I am here to celebrate being alive. I needed to be someplace healing, where intentions are to gain understanding and healing. I knew these things were here. I also needed to regain my physical and emotional strength and there is nothing better than the Camino that challenges both. 

  I was looking through my book of blessings by John O'Donahue last night looking for something appropriate for the day. I didn't find anything that exactly fit but here is something close. 

For Celebration

Now is the time to free the heart,

Let all intentions and worries stop, 

Free the joy inside the self,

Awaken to the wonder of your life.

Open your eyes and see the friends 

Whose hearts recognize your face as kin,

Those whose kindness watchful and near,

Encourages you to live everything here

See the gifts the years have given,

Things your effort could never earn,

The health to enjoy who you want to be

And the mind to mirror mystery.
