The wet and sloppy Way

  Today I was so happy to get back on the GR and see the markers and see familiar faces. The Camino is hard, but having sign posts showing you the way and knowing others are doing the same makes it easier. Also knowing that for over a thousand years people before you have passed this way is comforting.

  Today the GR was flat enough, minor ups and downs, but due to the rain in past days including maybe an hour today, the trail was underwater in many sections. The weather is so changeable that by the time I get my rain gear on, it's letting up, but you don't dare peel off because in another 10 minutes it's on again. My bike is caked in mud as well as my legs and shoes.

  We are in Figeac tonight, another old historic mideval town, but larger. It's really nice. Today was hard not just because of the trail, but the group is gone. Paul and I walked Pablo to the train station and said goodbyes and Paul is leaving tomorrow to head back to Norway. Eva is staying on in Figeac tomorrow to rest her feet with bisters, so then there was one.

  I will miss them very much, hugs, stories abounded. Buen Camino to everyone.

Goodnight;
Dave
