Two men and two women...

I asked Helmut what her name was. He said "what? Who's name?" I said her... He thought for a moment and said "Betty" I asked Betty? That doesn't sound very German. He said "Betty", short for Elizabeth. So the German woman giving us directions is Betty when she is ok and Elizabeth when she is not.

I'm glad to be riding with Helmut. It's nice to be with someone even though we are on the roads. In case of problems or accident, having someone nearby is great as well as the fact that he speaks French and can ask for directions or ordering food. Riding the roads today was a bit boring but we sure made tracks going almost 50 miles today.

I'm kind of missing the trails and the possibility of connecting with hikers, but I'd have to say that there just aren't that many and getting to Saint Jean sooner sounds pretty good to me. If the weather holds and we put in two full days of riding, we will be in Saint Jean on Sunday late afternoon. That would be amazing since I couldn't see my way there just 6 days ago. We just got this flash rainstorm a few minutes ago with big thunderstorms, but quickly left as fast as it arrived. Looking forward to getting within a day's reach tomorrow. Stay tuned!
