It was a clear and nice day today. Most if the trail was rideable but didn't see more than just a few pilgrims. I think I heard many of the French just go to Conques or Cahors and I'm past those now. I'm in Montcuq tonight and treating myself to a very nice B&B after kinda lousy hotel last night. Robert and Claude(woman) have owned this place for 7 years and come out of the fashion industry in Paris. They are super nice and the place only has 4 rooms and I'm the only here tonight. Both speak excellent English and I talked them into having dinner with me at a resturant on the town square.
I'm kind of really wanting to be in SJPP just because it familiar to me and I know the place will be packed with Pilgrims starting from there as I did before. I would guess probably something like 85-90% of those doing Camino de Santigo do.
Anyway, today was ok and with my bag now on its way there, I can ride more or less each day depending on trail, weather and my strength that day.
Wish I had more interesting stories from today, but quite frankly, it was nice to have just a straightforward day. Would have like to connected with some people but hopefully tomorrow.
Cheers!
Dave
Pretty sure this was/is an old pilgrim refuge
